A_PART is a contemporary, progressive, diverse and inclusive dance and arts company that exists primarily online, with a focus on dance and its coalesce with music, film, theatre, visual arts, literature and design.

Works in the form of online films and live-streamed performances will be curated on a regular commissioning basis, connecting a high calibre of Australian and Indonesian artists across disciplines.

A_PART will also encompass a community outreach program called OUR_PART which facilitates workshops, connecting remote and disadvantaged communities in Indonesia and Australia with professional artists.

A_PART is process-oriented, so ensuring cultivation of a quality creative process and meaningful relationships for artists is paramount. This enables sustainable development through the project and beyond, for long-term positive impacts.
OUR_PART is founded on the ethos of opening dialogues, which actualises in relationships with project partners and community leaders. Since 2015, Juliet Burnett has ensured there is a continuing dialogue with communities and project partners around the efficacy and impact of the outreach work, and will continue to do so.
Engaging audiences through social media and the internet is increasingly relevant, especially during the pandemic, and this will be important to maintain to ensure the reach and impact of this company’s work. We aspire to uncover ways for this engagement to be meaningful and focussed, which we believe is important in an overly saturated market.
